Innovation platforms

Innovation platforms are work environments that enhance the development of new products, services and markets. The Tampere City Region has platforms that operate in connection with higher education institutes, company-based platforms and platforms created by open collaboration.

New Factory is a communal innovation and business development network. New Factory units companies with inventive people by offering facilities, expert sparring and tools for collaboration. New Factory’s Demola is an innovation platform where companies, students and researchers create demos and prototypes on collaborative teams based on challenges provided by companies.

Kampusareena offers versatile facilities and new types of student-business collaboration, which the experts of the scientific community and business life use to develop new ideas. Kampusareena hosts the Kampusklubi campus club – the paid membership is valid for three years at a time. The club’s member companies collaborate in projects of different size, sharing costs and risks.

The media sector and digital industry cluster Mediapolis is a growing and evolving centre and network of media sector companies and organisations, with connections to actors in the field on both national and international level. The largest individual group in Mediapolis is production companies, but the associated services connected to their operations are also important. The largest individual operators are Yle and educational institutes in the media sector, Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK) and Tampere Vocational College Tredu. Mediapolis offers studios and filming facilities, various production services and media education, which enables combining the interests of companies and educational institutes and, thus, realizing new projects.
